May 31st The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Blessed Are Those Who Believe

Elizabeth Greets Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with you.
Blessed are you, Mary,
who believed that what
was spoken to you by the
Lord would be fulfilled.

On May 31st the Church celebrates the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to her cousin Elizabeth.  Mary and Elizabeth are filled with new life!  Mary has the Christ growing within her and Elizabeth, John the Baptist.

Today, read the account of the Visitation in the Gospel of Luke 1: 39 – 47.  Let yourself experience life leaping within you and be filled with joy.  With Mary proclaim the NEW being born in our midst today and bear the Christ in service to those in need.

Let us Pray!

Mary’s Proclamation that God is doing something NEW in our midst!

Magnificat!
"My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.

He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children for ever."
