Mary, Mother

of the

   

New Heavens

  

 and

  

 New Earth

  

In Pope Francis’ Encyclical, ‘Laudato Si’ On Care For Our Common Home, he speaks of Mary as the Mother and Queen of all creation and asks her to enable us to look at this world with eyes of wisdom.  During May, the Month of Mary, and springtime of new birth we pray for our common home, earth and for our own transformation.

Hail, O shoot of a trunk not dried up,

Hail, O mother of the Creator of our life,

Hail, O fruitful earth that brings forth mercy,

Hail, O table prepared with abundant gifts,

Hail, O you who make the garden of delights to flower,

Hail, O you who prepares for souls a sure haven,

Hail, O pardon for the entire world,

Hail, O divine benevolence for mortals,

Hail, O confident word of mortals addressed to God,

Hail, O Virgin spouse!
