Cluny Sisters Honored with Other Outstanding Parishioners

Friday, May 29th St. Catherine Laboure

On the evening of May 29th 160 friends gathered for the Second Annual St. Catherine Laboure Honors Award Gala Dinner Celebration.  This year the honorees were Lien Nguyen, a longtime sacristan and volunteer in the Vietnamese Ministries, Refugio (Cuca) Peralta, another longtime leader in the Hispanic Ministries, and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny, who operated and taught in the parish school for many years.

Kathleen Gorze, the first lay principal after the Cluny Sisters in St. Catherine’s, introduced the sisters and on behalf of all those present thanked the sisters present and remembered the sisters who had ministered at St. Catherine’s from 1952 to 1992.  With a meeting of former students and some long-time parishioners, the sisters shared a variety of stories and were humbled by the kind words of so many and the fond memories they continue to carry of “their Sisters”.
