Friday, March 6th GLOBAL CALL FOR PEACE

We Cannot

 Remain

Silent

On Friday, the UISG (International Union of Superiors General) representing Religious Sisters Globally, sent an invitation to participate in a worldwide prayer for peace.

Let us respond at this critical moment threatening our global peace by uniting ourselves in prayer throughout the days ahead.

“Peace is a desire of all peoples, and it is the sorrowful cry of those torn apart by war,” the Pope Leo XIV affirmed. “Let us ask the Lord to touch the hearts and inspire the minds of those who govern, that the violence of weapons be replaced by the pursuit of dialogue.” (July 2025 Angelus Address)

Through its members, UISG gives expression to this same plea present in those “existential” and geographical peripheries where the roar of weapons drowns out every other voice. Sisters living alongside refugees, the wounded, and devastated families daily bear witness that peace is not an abstraction, but a fundamental human need denied to millions.

UISG extends a global call to prayer, fasting, and action for peace from every continent, united beyond borders and cultures.

Peace Prayer

“We entrust to our loving, compassionate God

the victims of all conflicts and war.

We implore the gift of courage

for us to become artisans of peace.

We reaffirm our commitment to walk together

beyond borders with all our sisters and brothers

so the world may truly become a home for all.  AMEN.
