End Human Trafficking!
February 8th, Feast of St. Josephine Bakhita

When the integrity and dignity of the human person are held captive, modern day slavery of human trafficking is at work.

As Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny, the liberating charism of our Foundress, Blessed Anne Marie Javouhey, urges us to reach out to these dehumanizing situations.  On this feast day, join us in committing to fight against slavery in our world, promoting the dignity of each person.

Become more knowledgeable of today’s modern day slavery - Human Trafficking, pray and take action to end this evil in our world around us.

Read this month’s Stop Trafficking! Anti-Human Trafficking Newsletter
                                              http://www.stopenslavement.org/assets/stoptraff1702.pdf

Read the story of St. Josephine Bakhita who was sold into slavery, travelled from oppression to liberation and became a Catholic religious sister.

Choose an action - sharing information with others, join an Anti-Human Trafficking group in your area, choose an action to confront the root causes of this new global slavery.

Say the prayer to St. Josephine Bakhita:

Prayer to St. Josephine Bakhita

St. Josephine Bakhita, you were sold into slavery
   as a child
and endured untold hardship and suffering.
Once liberated from your physical enslavement,
you found true redemption in your encounter with
   Christ and his Church.

O St. Bakhita, assist all those who are trapped in a
   state of slavery;
Intercede with God on their behalf
so that they will be released from their chains
   of captivity.
Those whom man enslaves, let God set free.

Provide comfort to survivors of slavery
and let them look to you as an example of hope
   and faith.
Help all survivors find healing from their wounds.
We ask for your prayers and intercessions for
   those enslaved among us.      Amen.
