Second Sunday of Lent

Imagine This!

Use the power of your imagination
to pray with this scene of Jesus’ Transfiguration.
Go with Peter, James and John up the mountain with Jesus.
It is good to be there.  Savor the experience of being with Jesus
and return to the scene often, relishing his Presence and Call.

Gospel Scene
Jesus took Peter, James, and John
and led them up a high mountain apart by themselves.
He was transfigured before them.
Elijah and Moses appear and converse with Jesus.
A cloud casts a shadow over them.
A voice is heard.
They saw no one but Jesus.
They came down the mountain with questions.
What does rising from the dead mean?

Encountering Jesus   What do you See?  Hear?  Touch?  Smell?                                              Taste?  Think?  Feel?

Pray the mantra       ‘This is God’s Beloved One, Listen’

Lenten Fast For Climate Justice

As Catholics we have three
Lenten Practices.

Prayer
Fasting
Works of Love

The Global Catholic Climate Movement invites us to participate in a Lenten Hunger Fast.

“Please, I would like to ask all those who have positions of responsibility in economic, political and social life, and all men and women of goodwill:
let us be ‘protectors’ of creation,
protectors of God’s plan inscribed in nature,
protectors of one another and of the environment.
-- Pope Francis

Prayers of Petition

O Lord, grant us the grace to respect and care for your creation.
             Lord, hear our prayer.

O Lord, bless all of your creatures as a sign of your wondrous love.
             Lord, hear our prayer.

O Lord, help us to end the suffering of the poor and bring healing to all of your creation.
             Lord, hear our prayer.

O Lord, help us to use our technological inventiveness to undo the damage we have done to your creation and to sustain your gift of nature.
             Lord, hear our prayer.
